Britain's
greenest
city ?
The Forum for the
Future
has just published its ratings of the top U.K. cities based on three
broad
areas: environmental performance; quality of life; and
future-proofing – how well they are addressing issues such as climate
change and recycling.
Starting with the greenest, here are the top twenty
: Newcastle, Bristol, Brighton and Hove, Leicester, London, Leeds,
Edinburgh, Nottingham, Sheffield, Cardiff, Coventry, Plymouth,
Sunderland, Manchester, Liverpool, Bradford, Birmingham, Wolverhampton,
Glasgow and, last, Hull.
It's rather surprising that London is so high on the
list, number 5, and that Manchester and Liverpool are so low - 14 and
15.
